Miracle Natural Remedies For Water Retention

Water retention and holding onto too much fluid is not a pleasant experience. Your clothes feel tight, your feet are swollen and shoes hurt to wear. Your weight may fluctuate and you just generally feel like you re going to burst. This is something i certainly have also experienced. The symptoms of your body retaining too much fluid can be very uncomfortable.

Water retention can be due to many reasons such as poor heart or kidney function, hormonal imbalance, having low potassium and other minerals in the body, eating a high refined salt diet, not drinking enough water, side effects of some medications, being in a hot environment, and several other reasons. Of course its very important that you address any serious and long standing issues that you know may be contributing to water retention. The kidneys, heart and hormonal system are not something to be ignored.

I will just mention briefly the top simple remedies that I have personally experienced tremendous relief with, and which I have observed when treating others in practice.

Celery juice is fantastic with its high water content, rich sources of minerals, and chlorophyll. It has a strong diuretic action. Diuretic meaning it helps you to release more urine. Celery also has one of the highest amounts of organic sodium. Sodium is VERY important because it controls the distribution of water in the body! Celery juice is also highly alkalizing due to its mineral content of magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus thus helping your body maintain pH.

Cucumber is one of the best known natural diuretics. Cucumbers consist mainly of water, approximately 96%, which helps to eliminate toxic wastes and excess fluid via urination. Cucumbers are also very high in minerals. They supply essential electrolytes and restore hydration this way too.

I personally have found that the combination of both celery and cucumber juice have significantly helped me during those times where i felt uncomfortable and retaining too much water. Interestingly both cucumber and celery are  considered 'cooling'. This is really great for when you find the summer heat unbearable, retain water in the heat, or if you are just generally intolerant to heat. A daily morning juice of those two vegetables will definitely help ease your discomfort from fluid retention!

Dandelion leaf tea (or tincture) is absolutely brilliant for easing water retention. The dandelion leaf is also high in minerals, particularly potassium. It cleanses the blood and liver, and at the same time improves the function of the kidneys. It is particularly effective for people who suffer arthritis and have water retention.

Another common reason for water retention is when it is associated with Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS). Women often complain of sore, heavy breasts, and fullness in their tummy, arms, legs and face. When fluid retention is associated with PMS then the most effective almost miraculous remedies have proven to be magnesium and vitamin B6. Taken in the third week they ease PMS symptoms amazingly well, and reduce the debilitating feeling of heaviness and swelling.

Of course, most people who suffer from fluid retention know the basics such as, drink more filtered water, less coffee, fizzy drinks, eat less processed food, refined salt, and sugar. And remember to exercise because it stimulates the lymphatic system to eliminate toxins and gets the circulation moving.

So alongside these lifestyle changes, swap your tea and coffee for dandelion leaf, and drink celery, cucumber juice daily, and you'll be helping your body find a comfortable balance! As you can see, these remedies may be disregarded as being miraculous because they can easily be found in everybody's kitchens. However, I encourage you to try them for yourself, be patient and experience the amazing benefits!
